PURPOSE:To prevent a discontinuous part from being generated in a line of dots printed and enhance printing quality, by a method wherein printing signals to be sent to electro-thermal converting elements such as heat generating resistors are sequentially transferred from both ends toward a central part of a row of ink-ejecting holes or vice versa. CONSTITUTION:With a printing command inputted, a printing controller 1 sends information corresponding to the character to be printed through a bus line 5, judges it based on ROMs 3, 4, and inputs it into an input device 2. Then, printing signals are transferred starting from both end ones 6-1, 6-10 toward central ones 6-5, 6-6 of a group of electro-thermal converting elements 6, with sequential time delays. Therefore, continuous printing is sequentially performed starting from both ends toward a central part, and at the central part, printing is conducted by the individual elements 6-4-6-7 continuously, with a half-period time difference. Accordingly, no discontinuous part is generated in a printed line, and dots are printed in a continuous row form, so that printing quality can be enhanced. In addition, since time delays are provided in transferring the printing signals, a temperature rise at a head part is restrained, and the problem of seizure of the head can be solved. |
