PURPOSE:To increase the density of recording and to improve the interchangeability of devices by reversely controlling the extension/contraction of at least a pair of piezo-electric elements separated each other to change the azimuth angle of a magnetic gap in an induction type magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:A head arm 1 is supported through piezo-electric elements 9, 10, one of the elements 9, 10 is extended from a certain length D by a certain variable DELTAD and the other is contracted by the variable DELTAD. Consequently, the tip side of the head arm 1 is displaced in an arrow C or D direction. The azimuth angle of a recording/reproducing magnetic gap G1 of the magnetic head can be stably changed on the basis of the displacement. A voltage higher than a reference voltage by a certain voltage is impressed to one of the elements 9, 10 and a voltage lower than the reference voltage by the certain voltage is impressed to the other. The extended or contracted variable, i.e. the azimuth angle, can be controlled in accordance with the capacity of the certain voltage on the basis of the relation of direct proportion.
