PURPOSE:To enhance efficiency by rotating both a feed roller and an exhaust roller when a reversible feeder motor is in regular operation, rotating only the exhaust roller during reverse operation, and thereby eliminating interruption of recording because of awaiting completion of sheet exhaustion at the time when another sheet is to be fed. CONSTITUTION:When a feeder motor 9 is in regular operation as shown by solid arrow, gears 101-105 rotate in the direction as shown by solid arrow, and further the rotation in the direction of downward drawn arrow is transmitted to a sheet feed roller shaft 14 through a one-way clutch 13, and a feed roller 10 is driven to perform feeding of cut sheet. When the motor 9 is in reverse operation as shown by broken arrow, on the other hand, the gears 101-105 rotate in the direction of broken arrow, but a clutch 13 does not transmit the rotation, so that the roller 10 remains out of rotation and sheet feed is stopped. The motor 9 is also used to rotate an exhaust roller 11. Accordingly, feeding of the next cut sheet is not necessarily performed upon completion of exhaustion of the previous cut sheet, which should enhance the throughput of a recorder without interrupting the recording operation.
