Carburettor for internal combustion engines with a choke arranged upstream of an arbitrarily operatable throttle valve, which choke can be moved into the closed position by operation of the engine, manually or by an automatic choke when the engine is being started and run cold and into a fully open position when the engine warms up. According to the invention the fully open position of the engine choke is varied by an adjusting screw for adjusting a mixture ratio for a higher rate of air flow. <IMAGE>
