PURPOSE:To reduce the dimension of the power transmission device by preventing the interference between a countershaft with the both pulleys and reducing the between-shaft distance of the both pulleys. CONSTITUTION:The both torques supplied from the primary and secondary sides are transmitted as the torques in the opposed directions to a countershaft 57 through a power transmission device, and the speed change operation by the revolution of the countershaft 57 is sufficient with a small driving power. Further, the countershaft 57 is set, deflected by a prescribed quantity (e) upwardly from the center line (l) where the both pulleys 5 and 6 are set nearest. Therefore, the interference of the countershaft 57 with the both pulleys 5 and 6 is prevented, and since the both pulleys are arranged, with the smallest between- shaft distance, the dimension of the power transmission device can be reduced.
