PURPOSE:To reduce external noises and sliding noises of the titled magnetic head so as to improve its S/N by electrically conducting both or one of a pair of magnetic shielding sections with connecting terminals provided at a part of the magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:A lower and upper shielding layers 6 and 7 are electrically conducted with terminals 10 through a conductor layer 5. When the center terminal 10 is earthed and a current source 15 for driving an MR element 2 and a differential amplifier 13 for amplifying reproduced signals read out from the MR element 2 are connected between the other two terminals 10 on both sides of the center terminal 10, noises read out from the MR element 2 are differentially amplified and compensated. In addition the noises of the lower and upper shielding layers 6 and 7 can be removed through the earthed terminal 10. Therefore, the noises of the whole MR head can be reduced and, as a result, the S/N of this magnetic head can be improved.
