<p>PURPOSE:To freely execute a writing input of a character by a free format, and to generate efficiently a sentence by providing a means for deciding whether a character-string is inputted by vertical writing or horizontal writing, from an input position relation of the first character and the second character. CONSTITUTION:A character attribute calculating part in a recognizing part 13 detects a character input position on a position coordinate surface of a position input device 1, and detects a character interval, a line interval, etc. from a mutual relation of an input position of a character pattern which is inputted successively. Also, a vertical writing/horizontal writing deciding part 14 decides whether generation of a sentence by its character input is executed by a vertical writing format or a horizontal writing format, from a mutual position relation of an input character-string. In this way, a sentence of a desired format can be generated by entering freely a character by a free format onto an input coordinate surface of the device 1, without executing an initialization processing of a complicated document generating format.</p> |
