PURPOSE:The nonirritant titled composition, containing a drug for rectal administration, e.g. antibiotic substance, etc., and further oily base, sucrose ester of a fatty acid as a nonirritant adjuvant and jujube oil and having enhanced rectal absorbability. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition containing a drug for rectal administration, e.g. antibiotic substance such as beta-lactam based antibiotic substance, chemotherapeutic agent, peptide hormone, etc., an oily base used as a suppository base, e.g. witepsol, in an amount of 5-6 times based on the drug, sucrose ester of a fatty acid, e.g. sucrose monostearate, in an amount of 0.35-0.60 based on the drug and jujube oil in an amount of 10-15wt% based on the oily base. The above-mentioned composition is nonirritant and has enhanced rectal absorbability. In production, the principal ingredient and sucrose ester of the fatty acid are added to the oily base containing added jujube oil and uniformly mixing and dispersing the ingredients.
