PURPOSE:To decide easily a proper length of a correction part of a packet by providing a function recording the execution of the addition/subtraction of a correction part of the packet in a data communication equipment used for a network applying communication via the packet. CONSTITUTION:Each slave station M clears a correction recorder 7 by a command from a master station M at first. The a message is outputted from the master station. The packet is sent to a just adjacent station via a transmission line L. In this case, depending on the advance of the clock of each station, a correcting device 4 of the station corrects the correction part Q of the packet. Then the packet is sent to the next station. The station finished for the correction writes the face in a correction recorder 7. The operation above is repeated and a message arrives in an object station. After the said processing is executed for a prescribed time, the master station recovers the recording of the correction recorder 7 of each slave station, obtains the maximum value of the accumulation of the bit addition/subtraction of the correction part Q and the maximum value of the accumulation of the jitter due to the error of the clock 6 of each station from the maximum value. The measurement is repeated for several times to obtain the distribution of the maximum value of hitter and the correction part Q of the packet is calculated from the distribution for proper correction.
