CONSTANT SPEED TRAVEL CONTROLLER FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To prevent frequent speed change by providing a controller for constant speed traveling which will feed a signal for disabling the selection of the highest speed stage then receiving a signal from said controller to switch the shift pattern of a controller for automatic speed change into such pattern as having a reduced variation of shift. CONSTITUTION:When a set switch is turned off, ECU 1 for constant speed traveling will store a traveling vehicle speed and after turning off, a control valve of an actuator 3 is subjected to duty control. On a ascending slope, ECU 1 will produce an O/D cut signal to cause ECU 2 for automatic speed change to select third speed. Said ECU 2 has two types of shift patterns and during constant speed traveling, it is switched forcibly to a normal pattern having reduced shift variation. Consequently, frequent speed change of transmission on an ascending slope can be prevented.
