PURPOSE:To obtain zinc-contg. paint having excellent affinity between a pigment and its base, by dissolving fine zinc powder in a nonpolar solvent, mixing the soln. with a synthetic resin and other zinc-rich paint base and storing the mixture at a given temp. for a give period of time. CONSTITUTION:Fine zinc powder is dissolved in a nonpolar solvent such as xylene or toluene. The soln. is mixed with a synthetic resin and other zinc-rich paint base and diffused or penerated therein. The mixture is stored at a constant temp. of 35 deg.C for a given period of time, e.g., for one month to obtain the desired zinc-contg. paint. the zinc-contg. paint has excellent affinity between the pigment and the base as well as excellent heat resistance, insulating properties, rust-proofness and adhesion, etc., and can be easily prepd. without danger.
