PURPOSE:To prevent or damp down vibration by applying a voltage to a piezo-electric material which is covered over a vehicle component such as a door panel, etc. and giving a vibration of frequency which offsets a vibration applied to said vehicle component. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle component such as a door panel 1, etc. is covered with a layer of piezo-electric material such as a barium titanate layer 2, etc., and a layer of an electrode such as an aluminum layer 3, etc. is formed on top of it. The vehicle component and the electrode layer are connected to a DC power source 5 via a lead wire 4, to apply a voltage to the piezo-electric material layer. Since the piezo-electric material layer generates a natural resonance vibration inherent in piezo-electric material, vibration can be prevented or damped down by covering the vehicle component with a piezo-electric material which generates an oscillation frequency desired to be offset. |
