PURPOSE:To attain high speed reading and to reduce the cost of the titled reader by providing memories for 2 lines, reading other line as soon as one line is written so as to obtain a serial output. CONSTITUTION:The write address to a memory 17 is skipped at an interval of 63 addresses and the write is executed. In reading the content while a read address is incremented sequentially at memory readout, the data is read as a serial data. The address is designated by switching selectively an output of an address counter 20 by means of a switching circuit 19. The memory 17 has a memory capacity by 2 lines and while one memory is being stored, the other memory is subject to readout. In executing the operation above alternately the nest one line data is stored simultaneously while the data of one preceding line is being read. A shift register 18 stores the picture data read from the memory 17. The output of the register 18 is extracted to obtain a serial output.
