A gas-filled spring (1) with a cylindrical housing (2) and a piston rod (4) which can be displaced in the latter has, at the end where the piston-rod emerges, devices for pneumatic end-position damping. These devices have a damping chamber (20) and a compression piston (27) attached to the piston rod. As the piston rod (4) extends out of the housing (2), this compression piston enters the damping chamber (20) in a sealed manner and thereby exerts a counter force which opposes the extension force and reduces the total extension force. <IMAGE>
