PURPOSE:To obtain favorable overrun ability and prevent abnormal abrasion so as to improve durability, by providing a collar for the output shaft of a starter motor, and providing an inner hole fitting with this collar for a clutch outer. CONSTITUTION:A clutch outer 10 is provided with a hole helical spline 12 which is screwed to a shaft helical spline 3, and connects an output shaft 1 and a roller clutch 5 with each other. A collar 4 is provided for the output shaft 1, and a cylindrical inner hole 13 fitting with the collar 4 is provided for the clutch outer 10. When a pinion gear 7 is in a condition that it is engaged with a ring gear 6, the collar 4 is fitted with the clutch outer's cylindrical inner hole 13, and the eccentricity of a clutch is restrained. Thus, a roller 9 is in a stable condition, so that favorable overrun ability can be obtained. |
