The installation for the treatment of foundry sands resulting from stripping off and/or shot blasting basically comprises a general storage silo 1; an intermediate silo 2; a granulometric separator 3; separating tables 4; discharge channels or conveyor belts 5, 6; a storage silo 7; an intermediate silo 8; a magnetic drum separator 9 a belt conveyor 10 and a fluidized bed separating device 11. The mixture resulting from the stripping off is sent to the silo 1 and from this to the silo 2 by means of an air pulsator; the mixture passes by gravity, via a regulating valve, to the granulometric separator and from here the batches of different grain size and/or densities pass to the separating tables for separating, in each batch, the chromite from the silica, which are recovered separately. The mixture resulting from the shot blasting is sent to the silo 7 and from this to the silo 8 using an air pulsator; the mixture passes by gravity, via a regulating valve, to the magnetic drum separator 9 which removes the magnetic particles contained in the mixture, the said particles being discharged via the belt conveyor 10 and the mixture, without metal particles or grains, is conveyed to the fluidized bed separating device 11. <IMAGE>
