PURPOSE:To prevent component parts of a type wheel from being abraded, broken or damaged and obtain a highly reliable printer free of misprinting, by a method wherein a type wheel resetting operation is effected through gears. CONSTITUTION:When an intermittent gear 5 is rotated in the direction of an arror A by motive power of a motor, the first driven gear 401 of a selecting gear is rotated by the first driving gear 501. A type wheel shaft 2 fixed to the gear 401 is rotated in the same direction, and the type wheel is also rotated by the function of a type wheel spring. Since a detecting plate fixed to the shaft 2 is also rotated, a signal corresponding to the movement of the type wheel is provided by a detector. An electric current is supplied to an electromagnet in synchronism with the signal to operate a lever, therby selectively positioning the type wheel at a predetermined position. Although the type wheel is stopped at this position, the type wheel shaft 2 is rotated further, and one end of the type wheel spring is disengaged from a V-groove of the shaft 2. |
