<p>Granulated rubber of 0-4mm grain size, originating from tyre retreading operations can be reused, as material removed from the tread surfaces invariably contains some uncured rubber. Prior to applying optimum (interrupted) curing conditions during the compression moulding of this material, tetra:methyl- thiuram-di:sulphide, yielding active molecular sulphur and ultra fast accelerator are added. - Up to 50 kg.wt. shapes can be moulded for insulation, pavings and mountings. The cured material has the following characteristics: Tensile strength: 8N/mm2 (max.). Extension at break: 150%, Hardness 70 deg. Shore, and abrasion: 125mm3</p> |
