PURPOSE:To separate a cap into a a cap shell and packing, by exfoliating a packing from the cap through a difference between shrinking ratios of the cap shell and packing by cooling the cap with low-temperature liquefied gas. CONSTITUTION:A cap which has been kept stored into a hopper 1 is loaded within a recessed part 2a of a cooling tank 2 by facing the same in the direction of an arrow (a) by a transferring device. The cap is immersed into liquefied nitrogen 21 and cooled during a period that the same is being extruded within the cooling tank 2 in the direction of an arrow (c) by an extrusion blade 13. In this instance, a packing is exfoliated from the cap through a difference between heat shrinking ratios of the shell and packing. When the cap from which the packing has been exfoliated, that is, the cap shell and packing are extruded by the blade 13 and come up to the upper end of a slant surface 2b of the cooling tank 2, they fall inside of a side wall part 7b of a separation rotator 7 by falling in the direction of an arrow (d) by rolling downward on the slant surface 2b and a slope of a guide part 22.
