PURPOSE:To provide a connecting conductor for semiconductor devices functioning as safety fuse, by composing the conductor of a core and of a jacket surrounding the core while specifying the melting point of the core and making the jacket of copper or a copper alloy. CONSTITUTION:A connecting conductor consists of a core 2 and a jacket 3. The core 2 is made of a material having a melting point of 450 deg.C or below, while the jacket 3 is made of copper or a copper alloy. Accordingly, when excessive current flows through the conductor, the core material 2 is melted and the volume thereof is increased. The jacket 3 is thereby broken and the conductor is disconnected. Thus, this connecting conductor itself functions as safety fuse, obviating the need of incorporating any additional means serving as safety fuse. As a result, the size of a semiconductor device can be reduced. |
