PURPOSE:The twisted yarn is rotated under specific conditions between the over feed roller and the guide roller whereby an optimal tension is applied according to the kind and fineness of the yarn. CONSTITUTION:The peripheral speed of the overfeed roller 3 is made larger than the yarn take-up speed and a plurality of grooves for guiding the yarn Y are formed round the circular surface of the roller 3 so that the yarn Y is brought into intermittent contact with the roller 3. The second guide roller 8 is used to control the contact angle of the yarn Y to the roller 3. The Y passing through the balloon guide 2 is passed through the first groove on the roller 3, then, guide roller 5 to the second groove to effect overfeed whereby the running tension of the yarn is reduced stepwise.
