PURPOSE:To easily extract a contour line by extracting separately each contour line at a right side, a left side, a top side, and a bottom side from a dot matrix character font. CONSTITUTION:By scanning the dot matrix character font from right to left at a step 11, a right side contour line is extracted. Similarly, a left side contour line is extracted by scanning it from left to right at a step 12. Also, at a step 13, a top contour line is extracted by scanning it from top to bottom in the same manner. Similarly, at a step 14, a bottom contour line is extracted by scanning it from bottom to top. Following that, by overlapping four contour lines obtained at the steps 11-14, the counter line of a requested dot matrix character font can be extracted. Thus, the contour line can be easily extracted.
