PURPOSE:To improve the reproduction output particularly in a short wavelength region by eliminating the spaces between an MR element part and yokes. CONSTITUTION:The 1st conductive magnetic yoke 7, a magnet-resistance effect element 6, and the 2nd conductive magnetic yoke 8 are disposed on a high permeability insulating magnetic material 9 for shielding. The 1st conductive magnetic yoke 7, the magnet-resistance effect element 6 and the 2nd conductive magnetic yoke 8 are successively coupled and the 1st conductive magnetic yoke 7 and the 2nd conductive magnetic yoke 8 are used as the sensing current terminal for the magnet-resistance effect element 6. Since there are no spaces between the magnet-resistance effect element 6 and the 1st and 2nd conductive magnetic yokes 7, 8, the effect of a thin film magnetic head of a yoke type is improved and the reproduction output particularly in the short wavelength region is improved. The construction is simplified as the 1st and 2nd conductive magnetic yokes 7, 8 are used as the sensing current terminal. The higher density is made possible diminishing the spaces between tracks particularly in the case of multi-tracks. |
