PURPOSE:To raise the sharpness of an extreme value of a correlation characteristic by providing an adding circuit for adding successively a weighted coefficient, and outputting its added value as a correlation value. CONSTITUTION:The smaller a difference between a numerical data D4 and D5 is, the larger value of a coefficient is generated by a weighting circuit 49, and its coefficient is added successively by a result counter 50. Also, the circuit 49 inputs a clock pulse CLK1 and 2 from a clock generator 48 and outputs the coefficient in a form of a pulse number. In the counter 50, a correlation value of once of a template and a sample is calculated, and whenever the correlation value is derived by shifting the template and the sample, its value is transferred to a result memory 51. Accordingly, a correlation characteristic curve is stored in the memory 51. Also, a main controlling circuit (15) which is not shown in the figure derives a position of an extreme value (maximum) in the correlation characteristic curve in the memory 51. |
