PURPOSE:To simply manufacture the titled high property preform, by extruding paraffin contg. short fibers in plastic state from nozzle, etc., to cool and solidify it, heating the obtd. solid body to remove paraffin component. CONSTITUTION:Paraffin is heated and liquefied at >=m.p., short fibers are thrown thereinto, thoroughly stirred and dispersed. Excess paraffin is removed from the obtd. short fiber dispersed paraffin liquid. Next, the paraffin is slowly cooled and extruded from nozzle or slit of extrusion apparatus while being maintained in plastic state, if necessary extrusion operation is repeated. In the process, short fibers are arranged parallelly in extrusion direction. Extruded paraffin contg. short fibers is cooled and solidified, then heated to >=400 deg.C to melt, incinerate and completely remove paraffin component. In this way, matrix substance is infiltrated and the titled preform capable of forming high property composite body is obtd.
