PURPOSE:A composition useful in a conjugated resin field for dental restoration, having improved wear resistance, resistance to discoloration, high polymerization activity, safety to human body and sufficient polymerization activity to visible light rays, comprising an alpha-diketone and a specific promotor. CONSTITUTION:(A) An alpha-diketone[preferably a compound shown by the formula (R1 and R2 are alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or R1 and R2 may be bonded), such as benzil, comphorquinone, etc.,] is blended with (B) an azo compound [e.g., 2,2'- azobisisobutyronitrile, 4,4'-azobis(4-cyanovaleric acid), etc.,] and/or a Shiff base [e.g., N-benzylideneaniline, N-(1-naphthaleneethylidene)2-allyloxyethylamine, etc.,] as a photopolymerization initiator in a weight ratio of usually 10-90% component A to 90-10% component B.
