PURPOSE:To eliminate the overhead in input/output channels by holding request information when the request processing is terminated and returning request information to input/output channels or the like when a trouble or the like occurs. CONSTITUTION:Request information is used for access of a main storage device after being transferred to a request-in register 322. Request information is transferred to and held in a request port buffer register 334 until the request operation in a data transfer control part 33 is terminated. Each time the processing of one request is terminated, request information is transferred to and held in the register 334. If the request is faulty, request contents are transferred to an input/output channel 32 and are inputted to a get data register 322.
