PURPOSE:To compact a single-lens reflex camera and to improve its operativity by providing a pentagonal prism storage part with an image pickup element for a video camera and a video optical system which reflects projection light from a pentagonal prism by a roof prism and forms its image on the image pickup element. CONSTITUTION:For example, when remote photography is performed, the camera is installed at the photographic place and in this state, an image picked up by the image pickup element 11 incorporated in the pentagonal prism storage part PA is projected as a monitor image on a television receiver installed at distance from the camera installation place by a signal line connection system, etc. A shutter chance is found while the monitor image is monitored, and the shutter is released through remote operation. Further, even when the image pickup element 11 is incorporated, the pentagonal prism PA is made compact because of the video optical system using the roof prism 12, so the camera is handled conveniently.
