PURPOSE:To enable various disks which differ in specification to be read and written and to simplify a floppy disk device by switching the rotating speed of a driving motor and the write current of a write circuit through simple switching operation according to a disk which differ in specification of a rotating and a data transfer speed. CONSTITUTION:A LOW DENSITY signal which switches currents according to recording density from a controller is inverted by the inverter 10 of a driving control circuit to output a current switching signal WC which instructs the switching of the write current of the write circuit 11. Further, rotating speed modes of a D/D motor 13 which rotate the disk are switched by a jumper switching circuit 12. Further, a buffer circuit 14 holds a motor control signal MH from the controller and outputs it to the M terminal of the circuit 12. Then, the rotating speed of the motor 13 and the write current of the circuit 11 are switched through simple switching operation to read and write various disks which differ in specification.
