DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASURING COLOR DENSITY

PURPOSE:To measure the breadthwise color density of a sheet in movement in an explosion-proof area by sending reference light and measurement light to a density measurement part in an non-explosion proof area and also sending data on a position from a rotary encoder. CONSTITUTION:The reference light received by the light reception part 6a of a reference optical fiber 6 and the measurement light received by the light reception part 8a of an optical fiber 8 for measurement after passing through a film sheet 3 are sent to the density measurement part 16 installed in the non-explosion proof area B through the fibers 6 and 8 respectively. The position data from the rotary encoder 13 is also supplied to the density measurement part 16. The density measurement part 16, on the other hand, outputs display data on optical color density and position X to a CRT 15.
