PURPOSE:To obtain the information accordant with a receiving device by providing a selection processing means to the receiving device and using only the information of a fixed mode among those processing information of plural different modes in response to the mode of the control information contained in the transmission information. CONSTITUTION:The character data showing the characters, symbols, etc. and the color data for designation of colors are supplied to a transmitting device 11 via an input means 12. These two data are stored in a RAM 14 together with the identification data showing the monochrome or polychrome display data under the control of a CPU 13. Then these data are supplied to a display device 18 serving as a receiving device and the identification data is identified by a CPU 24. Here if the device 18 is limited to the monochrome display, the color data is read and disused and the character data is read. This processing is repeated until no character data is transmitted from the device 11 any more. Thus the data including the polychrome display if given to the device 18 from the device 11 are identified to obtain the information suited to the device 18.
