PURPOSE:To improve the damping effect of wave against the depth and the direction, by arranging wave-branching members having curved front surfaces along the depth and the direction of the front open sections of damping chambers, to be horizontally erected at specified intervals, and by forming wave-reflecting sections. CONSTITUTION:A wave dissipation caisson is provided with energy-damping chambers 14 with open front surfaces at the front side upper sections of a main caisson unit 12 having fill sections 10, and is divided with vertical walls 16. Then, incident wave advances into the damping chambers 14 striking against the curved front surfaces 18 and the front surfaces of the vertical walls 16 of wave-branching members 20 arranged a the front open sections of the damping chambers 14. Not only wave striking against reflecting sections 24 in the damping chambers 14 strikes against another wave, but frictional resistance between the wave and curved surfaces 22 or the like in the damping chambers 14 is increased. As a result, with a simple organization, energy damping against the depth and the direction of the wave can be effectively achieved.
