PURPOSE:To make the device compart by providing driven roller means including a flat holding member and a plurality of rollers arranged in opposition to drive belt means rotatably in the direction of movement of a sheet. CONSTITUTION:A sheet carrier is composed of a plurality of drive belt means 1 disposed in parallel the number of which is selected corresponding to the size of a sheet 11 to be carried, and driven roller means 6 comprising as many groups of rollers 8 as the drive belt means 1 disposed in parallel to one another in a holding member 7 in opposition to the drive belt means 1. Each pair of rollers 8 adjacent to each other along the width of the driven roller means 6 are offset in the carrying direction as shown in a two-dot chain line, so as to impart a uniform holding and carrying force to the sheet 1 and to assure stable carriage with no damage to the sheet 11. This eliminates necessity of any guides, allowing a compact structure.
