PURPOSE:To shorten the cycle time of the sequence processing and then shorten the answer time to the peripheral devices, by carrying out the sequence processing and the service processing for peripheral devices independently of each other. CONSTITUTION:The sequence processing is carried out by a cycle with the input/output transfer and the sequence arithmetic. At the same time, the peripheral device service processing is carried out independently of said the 1-cycle processing. Then an inquiry is given from the No.2 CPU 21 through a common memory 20 and the transfer of data must be carried out after the sequence arithmetic in case the result of the sequence arithmetic of an I/O monitor, for example, is displayed on a peripheral device. That is, the transfer of data is carried out in case the No.1 CPU confirms the inquiry given from the No.2 CPU after the end of the sequence processing. In this case, the inquiries given to a CPU 13, i.e., the memory area where the transfer of data has an access is very small. Therefore the single cycle time is increased just by a slight amount for the sequence processing. Thus the load of the CPU 13 is greatly reduced.
