PURPOSE:To make it possible to emit light beams in different colors with a single lamp, by using a sodium lamp asa light source, and by providing a plurality of output terminals to an output transformer in an inverter circuit in order to turn on and off the sodium lamp. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 21 is turned on, a voltage having a inverted phase appears on the secondary side of an inpt transformer 26 so that output transistors 29, 30 are repeatedly turned on and off. Therefore, a.c. voltage is generated on the seconary side of an inverter transformer 31. When a switch 18 is turned to a high voltage terminal 8 (a) side, a high pressure sodium lamp 17 emits a white light beam so that it serves as a normal head lamp. Further, the switch 18 is turned to the low voltage terminal (b) side, the high pressure sodium lamp 17 emits an orange light beam so that it serves as an auxiliary head lamp. That is, it is possible to change over the color of the light beam between the white color to the orange color with the use of only one lamp. |
