PURPOSE:To greatly improve processing fluctuation and to achieve lowering of environmental pollution in a simple and inexpensive manner by processing a silver halide emulsion containing flat silver halide grains having a grain diameter to thickness ratio of >=5 and replenishing a specified amount of color developing replenishing solution containing a bromide in an amount of <=3.0X10<-3>mol/l. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide color photographic sensitive material having at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing >=3mol% silver bromide is color developed with a color developing solution containing flat silver halide grains having a grain diameter to thickness ratio of >=5. In this color development processing, the color development replenishing solution containing bromide in an amount of <=3.0X10<-3>mol/l is supplied in an amount of <=9ml par 100cm<2> of the silver halide color photographic sensitive material. The addition effect is remarkably enhanced by incorporating one of chelating agents represented by formula [I], [II], and [III] in which A is a univalent organic group; B1, B2 each has a univalent group or atom, and optionally organic or inorganic; D is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form an optionally substituted aromatic or hetero ring; and M is H or an alkali metal atom. |
