PURPOSE:To enable the level of coal to be made approximately uniform after completion of charging without decreasing the charging density, by adjusting the charging rate of a preheated coal in such a way that it is greater in the early stage of charging and becomes smaller gradually after a specified point of time. CONSTITUTION:In the process of charging a preheated coal into a chamber oven, the maximum charging rate is used in the early stage of charging to intend to increase the charging density; the charging rate is gradually reduced, in the process of charging, after a point of time at which the difference in the level of charging coal (Max. - Min. of the charging height) becomes enlarged, for example, to 5% or more of the charging height; and the minimum charging rate is used in the final stage of charging. The profile of the charging level can thereby be made to be approximately uniform without decreasing the charging density.
