The device comprises four toothed discs 1, 2, 3, 4 pinned to shafts 8, 11-14, 15 driven in opposite directions by pairs of bevel gears 21, 22-23, 24-25, 26. The discs are arranged in opposition along two perpendicular planes, one horizontal and the other vertical and at a spacing 6 which is a function of the depth of the groove desired. The stakes T are engaged in a slideway 5 mounted at an angle of 45 DEG with respect to the horizontal and are presented between the teeth of the discs which make the grooves by crushing the sharp edges at a pitch corresponding to that of the teeth and linearly driving the stakes in the slideway 5. <IMAGE>
