An automatic gain control circuit having different control loops which must each be controlled in a different control current range by one and the same control current comprises a current threshold circuit having an input (1) to which a threshold current source (7) and the emitters of a complementary transistor pair (3,5) are connected so that the collector current of each transistor can control a control loop (Figure 1).
