PURPOSE:To make the execution of printing operation by using an unused discharge part possible, by a method wherein the recording head attached to the front of a cartridge type ink tank is made rotatable and the ink discharge part is switched. CONSTITUTION:A recording head 9 is attached to a holder 10 making at first the first discharge part 15A correspond to the ink supply groove 16 of the holder 10 and ink is discharged from the specific nozzle of the first discharge part 15A. At that time, the second discharge part 15B does not correspond to the ink supply groove 16 to be under an unused state. Thereafter, when the clogging of ink is generated in the first discharge part 15A, its recovery action is executed by using the blank discharge using ink absorbing material 8 and the methods of preheat or the like. However, when not yet recovered, the head 9 is rotated by 180 deg. to prevent its touch with the frame surface 10A of the holder 10 to be by untightening a fitting screw 14, thus making the second discharge part 15B opposed to the ink supply groove 16. The fitting screw is tightened and the printing operation is carried out by using the unused second discharge part 15B. |
