PURPOSE:To prevent the restoration of braking force from being delayed by continuously generating braking force for a predetermined period of time even if the reduction gear ratio of the speed changed stage of a transmission becomes excessively large. CONSTITUTION:The stepped condition of a brake pedal 9 is detected by a detector 10. The outputs of 6, a wheel speed sensor 7, an actual car speed sensor 8, and the detector 10 are given to a processing circuit 11 which is materialized by a microcomputer, etc. The processing circuit 11 actuates actuators 12 to feed hydraulic oil to a wheel cylinder 13 provided on each wheel. The braking mechanism 14 applies frictional brakes to wheels 5 by the work of the wheel cylinders 12.
