Process for obtaining a dishwashing detergent for use in dishwashing machines at low wash temperatures, by means of the reaction of monoalkylcarboxylic acids with 8 to 18 carbon atoms, or mixtures thereof, at temperatures from 330 to 370 degree C with ammonia, separation by distillation of the nitrile obtained, reduction in the presence of catalysts at temperatures of approximately 120 degree C and at pressures between 20 and 50 bar, combination with enzymes and granulation, agglomeration or conversion to small beads (perlites) together with polymeric alkaline phosphates and/or the substitution products thereof, alkaline silicates, alkaline carbonates as well as, if necessary, active oxygen dissociating compounds and low- foaming non-ionic surfactants.
