PURPOSE:To connect only a specific calling subscriber by setting an automatic answering telephone device in an automatic answering and voice recording state when calls from calling subscribers except the specific calling subscriber are rejected even in presence. CONSTITUTION:When an origination signal is received, a control circuit 5 starts a sound recording/reproducing circuit 8 to send out an answer message which urges the sound recording of a message to the calling subscriber from a tape part 9 through a transmitting AMP 3. The calling subscriber confirms the answer message and sends out a specific word which requests the calling of the called subscriber. The specific word recognizing circuit 6 of the automatic answering telephone device when detecting the specific word operates a control circuit 5 to send a call signal to a display part 7. When the called subscriber answers, the automatic answering and sound recording state is reset. When the specific word is not detected during the origination, the message is recorded as usual.
