PURPOSE:To increase the stiffness of door body upper part by dividing either of an outer and an inner panel, constituting the door body, into upper and lower members, and by coupling the lower panel member with a framing construction consisting of upper panel member and a reinforcement. CONSTITUTION:A door body 1 is composed of an outer 2 and an inner panel 3, and between the two panels 2, 3 a window glass 4 is installed movable vertically through a weather strip 5. The outer panel 2 is divided into an upper 7 and a lower member 6, and a reinforcement 8 is provided on the window glass 4 side of the upper member 7, stretching in the direction fore and aft of the car, so as to form a framing construction with closed profile. The lower member 6 is coupled with this framing construction, and the joint is fitted with lace 9, wherein the top 9a of the lace 9 is situated a little recessed from the surface extension of the upper and lower panel members 7, 6.
