PURPOSE:To permit an intake manifold to serve as a protection member for a fuel pipe and to be cooled by air, by disposing a fuel pipe communicating with a fuel injection valve in a space provided between the intake manifold and an engine. CONSTITUTION:Mounted on an engine 1 is an intake manifold 3 having two sets of chambers 3a which correspond to cylinder groups divided into two portions and communicate with the engine 1 through intake pipes 3c, respectively. The intake manifold 3 has a space 20 which vertically separates the manifold 3 from the engine 1. The space 20 is so arranged that a fuel pipe 12 to fuel injection valves 9a, 9b, 9c corresponding to respective intake ports at the right and left hands of the engine 1 is substantially positioned below the intake manifold 3. With such an arrangement, the fuel pipe 12 is substantially covered by the intake manifold 3 and the manifold is cooled by air flowing from the front to be back while traveling. |
