<p>The equalising gear with two half axles extending from a spherical housing supported each end by taper roller bearings, and with a toothed driving ring round the outside incorporates a differential gear system inside the housing. This includes a bevel wheel on each half shaft, meshing with a bevel wheel (11) at each end of a spindle (10) with helical grooves at each end. The spindle passes completely through the housing (2) and is retained by a spring clip (15). The clip is made of rod material, and is C shaped, with each end (17) bent over to grip an edge of the housing. The clip is also located between lugs (16) projecting from the housing.</p> |
