A workbench (1) has a work-supporting plate (2) carried by a bench frame (3). Provided on the underside (4) of the work-supporting plate (2) is a clamping device (5) for the rigid fastening of a powered hand tool, in particular a circular saw (9), a compass saw or a plunging router. The work-supporting plate (2) has at least one aperture (11) for the tool of the machine, in particular for the saw blade (10) or the cutter. So that the mounting of a powered hand tool on the underside (4) of the supporting plate (2) is substantially simplified, the supporting plate (2) can be swung out of its working position into a mounting position turned through 180 DEG , and a locking device (22) for both turned positions is provided on the bench frame (3). <IMAGE>
