PURPOSE:To obtain images of high quality by arranging a developer control member at an obtuse angle to the tangent in the abutting position between the developer control member and a developer carrier and supporting the developer control member freely movably while keeping this attitude and moving and energizing the developer control member to the abutting direction. CONSTITUTION:A toner layer thickness control member 7 consists of an elastic plate and is so arranged that an angle theta between the control member 7 and a tangent l in the abutting position between its lower abutting end and a toner carrying roll 6 is obtuse when viewed in the rotation direction of the roll 6. The toner layer thickness control member 7 is freely slided by a guide member 9 held in the immobile state while keeping this attitude and is energized and moved to the abutting direction to the roll 6 by an energizing means consisting of an expansible spring 11. That is, the control member 7 is so supported and constituted that the obtuse angle theta is always kept though the member 7 is moved vertically. Thus, images of high quality are obtained. |
