<p>The machine consists of a hollow guide 11 of rectangular section via which mixed coins 13 circulate and fall under gravity via said guide, said guide 11 being made from an opaque material and also having a transparent groove 12; of a light source 14 located on one side of the guide 11 to illuminate the groove over its entire length; and of a cylindrical lens 15 which focuses on the entire groove, the source (focus) thereof having a photoelectric cell or phototransmitter which receives the light allowed to pass by the groove 12 at any time. When a coin 13 passes in front of the groove 12, it obstructs part of the light of the groove, depending on its diameter, and therefore the phototransistor 16 emits a signal.</p> |
