<p>A mould fitted with a pair of blades having edges which surround part of the moulding when at rest. A ram displaces one blade to begin severing the moulding before picking up the other blade to sever the other half of the moulding. Esp. for trimming the parison ends from extrusion blow moulded thermoplastic bottles, etc. The initial cut is localised in shear to avoid tearing or creasing beyond the plane of the cut. Automatic synchronisation of the second knife by using only one power unit.</p> |
